A Holiday Tradition Returns to the Robinson Grand

Clarksburg, WV – The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is bringing back one of its holiday traditions that patrons have asked for again and again. On Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 7:30 pm, the Robinson Grand will show the holiday classic film White Christmas.

The movie will be presented along with other weekend festivities provided by the Clarksburg Visitors’ Bureau’s WinterFest, a community winter festival including the WinterFest Parade, an Artisan’s Market at Jackson Square, community, business, and nonprofit informational booths, food trucks and local vendors, performances by area school choirs, a Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Santa at the Waldomore. White Christmas is a 1954 American musical film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. Filmed in Technicolor, it features the songs of Irving Berlin, including a new version of the title song, "White Christmas", introduced by Crosby in the 1942 film Holiday Inn. Set during the World War II era, a successful song-and-dance duo becomes romantically involved with a sister act and together, they team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general. The film introduced to the world a number of catchy sing-along tunes, including "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing" and "What Can You Do with a General?" Not to mention, the movie is also known for helping make the song "White Christmas" as iconic as it is today.

“Audiences from all over consider watching White Christmas each year a holiday tradition. When the pandemic put a halt to that last year, we adapted as best as we could and presented The Ghostlight Series during the shutdown. This year, we are determined to bring back the mirth of the holiday season by decking our halls and returning to this much-requested tradition,” explains Sales & Marketing Manager, Emily Moore.
