Announcing Robinson Grand Community Theatre Program in 2019

Clarksburg, WV – Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to perform on the stage? The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is proud to announce a new program centered on engaging community members of all ages—Robinson Grand Community Theatre.

City Manager, Martin Howe, remarks that, “Community theatre will allow for an opportunity for everyone to participate throughout the region who has an interest. Early in the planning stages, community theatre was a goal to which we wanted the RGPAC to be utilized. We were very fortunate to have an opportunity to bring Emily Moore into a leadership position to implement and carry-out this endeavor."

The program will be led by Moore who is the current Sales and Marketing Manager for the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center and has prior experience with theatre program direction from her time at Robert C. Byrd High School (2012-2018). The program is in the fundraising stage and has a couple of benefit events in the works to help with its funding.

The first Robinson Grand Community Theatre (RGCT) theatrical production will take place in late 2019 with preparations starting as early as summer 2019, and is expected to involve children, teens, and adults from across North Central West Virginia. Individuals with a myriad of abilities, skills, and talents are encouraged to participate.

“We don’t just need actors, singers, and dancers. We need builders, painters, artists, sound and lighting technicians, stage hands, crew chiefs, directors, creative minds, costumers, leaders…theatre takes more than the people on stage. There is this massive theatre family that is behind-the-scenes making it all happen,” explains RGCT Director, Emily Moore.

The goal for Robinson Grand Community Theatre will be to operate on a GRAND scale with numerous opportunities for community engagement including multiple performances for the public as well as for school-aged students.

“The City is proud to offer this opportunity to the community to keep the arts and culture accessible to all,” emphasized Howe.

RGCT is currently accepting corporate sponsors for its 2019 inaugural season. For more information on how to become a corporate sponsor for RGCT and all the perks that come with it, please contact Emily Moore at
