HISTORY: Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center Pre-Bid Conference


September 22, 2016 - A mandatory pre-bid conference was held today for restorations and renovations to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. The meeting was held on site at the historic theater with approximately 75 contractors and sub-contractors in attendance.

An overview of the project was provided along with question and answer session followed by a walk-through of the property.

The approximate 44,000 square foot theater will feature:

  • A restored exterior with an electronic message board showcasing a 25-foot marquee

  • Performance hall seating capacity for 950 patrons

  • All new stage rigging, curtains, lighting, sound systems and orchestra life

  • A High-definition projector and projection screen

  • Dressing rooms to accommodate headliners and larger productions

  • State-of-the-art building systems such as HVAC, LED lighting, efficient plumbing fixtures and high performance windows

  • 1,800 square foot multi-purpose banquet room for events, receptions and business meetings

  • A Caterer’s kitchen to support food and beverage service throughout the theater

  • A Circular bar located in the heart of the second floor

  • Three state-of-the-art elevators providing easy access to all floors

  • A new loading dock able to accommodate a semi-trailer for larger productions

Construction bid opening will take place Thursday, October 27, 2016, construction bids are scheduled to be awarded Thursday, November 3, 2016 followed by a contract signing/pre-construction and be given a notice to proceed before Thanksgiving. Construction will be completed in the spring of 2018.
