First United Methodist Church to Honor First Responders and Present Check to Robinson Grand Performi
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 4th 2017 as the First United Methodist Church will honor First Responders in their Strength for Service Celebration as well as present a check to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.
According to Pastor Greg Godwin, a fire destroyed the church on September 4, 1951, and if it had not been for the professionalism and preparedness of first responders, the building would have been in ashes. Records of the church reflect how the Clarksburg community opened their doors to their congregation during their time of need. This included the Robinson Grand, which became their temporary worship home for almost five years.
A $5,000 donation to assist in the restoration of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center will be presented as a way to say “thank you” and to recommit ourselves to the ministry in Downtown Clarksburg.
All are invited and welcome to attend. First United Methodist Church is located at the corner of West Pike and North Second Streets in Downtown Clarksburg.
The ceremony will begin at 10:45 AM. For more information, contact 304.623.3397 or firstname.lastname@example.org
