Clarksburg, WV – Supporters and potential donors of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center gathered this evening at the Waldomore to take part in an exclusive theater tour and accept a generous gift to the ongoing capital campaign from Steptoe & Johnson.

The $100,000 donation from Steptoe & Johnson - one of the region’s largest law firms with over 100 years of diverse experience – is a major contribution that will help our theater transition from a vision into a reality, said Ryan Tolley, Executive Director of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

“Our partners have really stepped-up, including Steptoe & Johnson, who not only supported us through the tax credit process, but also showed amazing generosity through this recent contribution,” Tolley said during the event in the historic Waldomore. “Steptoe & Johnson continues to show strong commitment to the local community by getting involved in projects that make a difference and provide investment in our future.”

Tonight’s event is the final chapter in the project’s silent phase, which has encompassed the last year and raised almost $2 million dollars. The next chapter will involve broadening the scope to foster wider support and involvement of the entire regional community.

“Steptoe & Johnson places a high priority on supporting the communities in which we live and work. The firm was founded in Clarksburg the same year the Robinson Grand was built so it is a special honor to support this restoration which promises such a tremendous positive economic impact for our region.” Said Hank Lawrence, Litigation Department Chair for Steptoe & Johnson.

The Robinson Grand is one of North Central West Virginia’s largest economic development projects. Located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District, the center is undergoing a $15 million renovation and restoration with a soft-opening opening slated for summer 2018. The grand opening is expected to be held in the fall of 2018. For more information, visit
