Clarksburg, WV – Leaders from FirstEnergy and the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center came together at the theater’s construction site this afternoon to recognize and accept a major contribution to the theater’s capital campaign.
The FirstEnergy Foundation has donated $25,000 to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. This outstanding contribution will help to complete the renovation efforts and provide operational funding for the theater when its doors open in late summer of this year. While the theater’s doors have been closed for the last 10-years, it’s first events date back to 1913. This historic theater will see new life soon, thanks to the support of the FirstEnergy Foundation.
The fully-renovated and restored theater will play host to many events for entertainment, corporate functions, social gatherings, and community-related activities. Progress is moving right along, with visible changes taking place on a daily basis. The soft-opening is expected to be held in early August 2018. The Grand Opening will follow in October 2018.
“FirstEnergy Foundation is pleased to support the revitalization efforts of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center and the City of Clarksburg. The Robinson Grand restoration project will significantly enhance economic development initiatives and the cultural vitality of North Central West Virginia, and beyond,” said Greg Hefner, Manager, External Affairs at FirstEnergy. “Funded solely by FirstEnergy, the Foundation extends the corporate philosophy of providing support to the communities we serve.”
“The FirstEnergy Foundation has been a dedicated partner in this endeavor,” said Ryan Tolley, Executive Director of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. “Their core goals align with our main priorities and that makes a great fit. We are truly excited and thankful to have their support.”
