Clarksburg, WV – The City of Clarksburg announces the selection of Emily R. Moore as Sales & Marketing Manager and Bobby W. Rexroad as Operations Manager for the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, effective July 2, 2018.
An interview committee consisting of City Manager Martin Howe, Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte, and Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center Executive Director Ryan Tolley reviewed the resumes and conducted several interviews as well as tours of the area throughout the selection process.
Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte stated “I was impressed with the experience and knowledge of all applicants. The two that were chosen stood out for their passion for the arts and the success of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.”
Mrs. Moore is a former Theater and English teacher at Robert C. Byrd High School where she successfully ran their theater program for the last six years. She has been an educator of students for the past ten years. A native of Clarksburg she graduated from Liberty High School and attended West Virginia University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Masters in Secondary Education, with a minor in Theater and Dance.
The Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing/leading the sales and marketing of the theater for all events, including the box office and guest service positions. This individual will market and produce sales revenue through three main outlets: self-produced events, co-produced events, and facility rentals. The Sales and Marketing Manager will act as the main point of contact for theater rental clients throughout the sales and execution process, while working to ensure complete satisfaction of the theater’s patrons.
Mrs. Moore stated, “Since I was first introduced to theater, it has found a way to permeate my life. My greatest passion is helping others discover the magic of theater.”
Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center Executive Director said, “"Our selections were not an easy decision, but we're extremely confident in Emily and Bobby. I feel that they will add many assets to our management team and the fact that they are native to this area is an absolute plus as well. I look forward to working with them and opening this amazing project to the public in the near future."
Mr. Rexroad attended Full Sail University, a prestigious entertainment and media university in Winter Park, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Film Production and a Masters in Entertainment Business. Upon graduation, he joined the technical staff for FMA Live, an interactive, live production, focused on engaging youth in math and science. Bobby furthered his career in live event production by working for Palm Beach Staging and Production, a subsidiary of the Breakers Resort where he started as an AV Technician and progressed with the department over a 5-year period by serving as Production Manager. For the last two years, Mr. Rexroad has worked in Business Consulting.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing/leading the facility operations. This includes all technical aspects (lighting, audio, video, etc.), upkeep and maintenance of the theater’s electrical/mechanical equipment, concession services, and related vendors. The Operations Manager will be responsible to understand and utilize these systems to execute daily activities for a wide range of events. They will lead a team of part-time staff and volunteers to achieve the desired goals of guest satisfaction, seamless equipment operation, quality upkeep of the facility, and constant training/development of staff.
Mr. Rexroad stated, “By returning to my hometown, I strive to blend my love for the arts and the greater Clarksburg community as I work to continue my career in theater and live event production.”
City Manager Martin Howe expressed, “It was a great pleasure to interview all the candidates and to see the excitement and attitudes brought forth. The two selected have great knowledge of the industry as well as the community as a whole. The regional concept is one they both grasp and will be a tremendous asset.” Howe concluded, “We welcome them both to the team.”
The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is one of North Central West Virginia’s largest economic development projects. Located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District, the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is undergoing a complete renovation and restoration with an opening slated for August 2018.
