The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center to Hold SOFT OPENING Event Featuring Qiet and Other Regional Artists

July 25, 2018

Clarksburg, WV – The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is proud to announce its SOFT OPENING Event for the public on Saturday, August 4, 2018.  The event begins at 7:00pm where guests will be given their first chance to peruse the venue in a self-guided leisure tour of the historic site. During the touring hour, guests will be treated to regional artists who will be set up in the main lobby, ballroom, and performance hall. At 8:00pm, guests will gather back in the performance hall for the headline entertainment, the band Qiet.

In the Dominion Energy Main Lobby, guests will have the pleasure of hearing Nat Frederick, a homegrown singer/songwriter with country roots and his solo acoustic guitar. In the Schopp Family Ballroom, the vibe goes smooth with the Dave Braham Trio to serenade you with some soft jazz that will resonate through to the Yuengling Bar Lobby.

At 7:15pm, patrons can enter the Antero Performance Hall to be entertained by Appalachian Swing, a grand jazz ensemble of five musicians who will serve as the opening performance for the night. Refreshments will be available as guests get ready for the closing performance, Qiet, which will hit the Thrasher Group Main Stage at 8:30pm.

Qiet is an eclectic blend of rock, jazz, gypsy, funk and beyond.  Notorious for moving even the most stoic to dance, Qiet’s chemistry resonates with the audience to create an experience to remember as well as a whole new perspective on music performance. The band touts that, “It’s Qiet without ‘u’.” This high-energy pop group will end the night by 10:00pm for a night to remember for all those in attendance.

“Finishing touches are still being added to the space, but the result is something for this city to be proud of as we move forward in our goal to become a premier source of entertainment as well as a diverse and capable venue to meet the needs of our community, the region, and the state,”  says Ryan Tolley, Executive Director.
