The Ghostlight Series Continues Amid the Pandemic
Clarksburg, WV – The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is proud to present the next installments of the popular Ghostlight Series to be featured in the months of January and February amid the global pandemic. As theaters and other live-event venues continue to be rocked by the effects of the live performance shut down, the need for adaptation and creativity in providing arts and culture to communities has risen. The Robinson Grand continues to forge ahead virtually in order to answer that need.
In January, the theater will host two Facebook LIVE events in The Ghostlight Series featuring WV Singer-Songwriters. First up is the Davisson Brother Band, a homegrown country band that is no stranger to the Robinson Grand stage, performing on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 7pm via the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/RobinsonGrand.
The Davisson Brothers Band, hailed as Rolling Stone Country “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know,” boast musical foundations that are classic, obvious and etched in stone. Singer Donnie Davisson commands attention with his working-class, Van Zant-like vibe, guitar player extraordinaire Chris Davisson and the rest of the band – including drummer Aaron Regester – gives body to a punchy throw-down sound with echoes of the Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, Neil Young and 38 Special. The band is based in old-school rock ‘n’ roll, while the messages support all-American fundamentals: family, self-determination, and satisfaction in a job well done.
Also performing as part of the WV Singer-songwriter edition is local artist Nathaniel Frederick who is set to perform on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 7pm via Facebook LIVE and the Robinson Grand Facebook page. Nat Frederick is from Bridgeport, West Virginia, and has had a passion for music rooted in family sing-alongs, CMT music videos, and an old Yamaha 12-String. He writes simple, authentic, and emotional country songs and performs his acoustic show all over the Allegheny Mountains and the East Coast. Nat’s songs have been performed by an array of Top 40 Country Artists and have been a part of national multi-media advertising campaigns.
In February, the second filmed season of the series will premiere. The Ghostlight Series: A Broadway Valentine is a virtual mini-concert series offered during the COVID-19 pandemic in the month of February as an alternative, safe way to showcase the arts to our community while celebrating and paying homage to Broadway musicals during this dark time.
"After the overwhelmingly positive response to the Holiday Edition, Valentine's Day seemed like the logical next step for the second filmed season of the Ghostlight Series. There is also something very special about a Broadway love song. And these local artists will warm your hearts and bring a tear to your eye. This edition of the series is simultaneously a sharing of great art by great local artists, but also a virtual valentine to Broadway, a place and an art form that is near and dear to our artists’ hearts that has been terribly impacted by this pandemic," states Jason Young, Founding Producer & Artistic Director of The Vintage Theatre Company and production partner for The Ghostlight Series.
The filmed series is a collaboration with The Vintage Theatre Company, LLC, Geminye Studios, Joshua Stubbs (series accompanist), and local artists. Patrons will be able to view the series through the RGPAC Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RobinsonGrand) or on the RGPAC YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD9Hbpji-HTEhJtFrZyt1Aw).
The upcoming series will be broadcast every Friday in February at 7pm plus a bonus concert on Valentine's Day at 7pm.

Performer and Community Arts Advocate, Don Gardner reminisces, "I have so many great memories tied to the Robinson Grand! As a kid, it was a treat to go to the movies there. Later, I enjoyed local theater productions, visiting big-name performers in concert, dance recitals...so many wonderful times! And now, even in the midst of Covid-19 concerns, the theater continues to be the center of entertainment in our community. I couldn't be more pleased or honored to have been asked to perform in this current series."
